Last night as I finished writing, I set my alarm and went to bed around 11:15. I prayed as I drifted off that God would wake me up with a motivation to spend time with Him and begin my day on a positive productive note. When my 4:50 alarm rang, I picked up my phone, turned off the alarm, and walked out of my room. I knew I needed to put distance between myself and my bed because the temptation to lay back down, or even just sit down, would be in my brain quickly. I do not have a professional assessment and reason as to what I am doing here, this is just from personal experience that I have observed in myself. If I stop to think even just for a moment after I turn off my alarm, I am immediately at war with my sleepy flesh which obviously urges me back to the comfort of my bed to sleep for as long as I can. I started getting ready to workout and was excited to exercise because I knew it would help my body wake up and have an energetic start to the day. I was able to workout, watch the sunrise, read my Bible and pray. I was so refreshed after a quiet slow morning. I have realized that I quickly get exhausted if I do not have any alone time before I spend most of the day with people. I usually crash in the afternoons, but today I had energy throughout the entire day. I was so thankful for the amazing start to my day and encouraged to continue on.
